Our project proposal proved to be very well written as it was highly approved by the coordinating Agency in the Netherlands. However specific it might have been, there still appeared to be issues to be discussed and plans to be made. We, the teachers, needed to have a common understanding of the topic of empathy and the activities we had described.
We were supposed to hold a teachers’ meeting in person in the school in Portugal, however, the global pandemic prevented us from doing so and we had to have it online.
We managed to discuss and produce action plans for the start of the project in terms of student selection, partners’ matching, logo contest, website, YouTube channel and Facebook page set-up and distribution of tasks between the teachers.
Online meetings, in our view, are a possible substitute to face-to-face meetings, but are not always as good. We missed the time when we could concentrate on the project only, as the online meeting was in between our school tasks and classes.
Hoping to see each other in person to build our team and be even more motivated!
LOGO CONTEST

Before starting any activities on the project or any instruction on the topic of empathy, we chose to assign an individual task to all students. The LOGO CONTEST aims to keep the initial motivation of the students by working on this challenging task. They are instructed to use a digital tool of their choice and of course investigate the topic to emphasize empathy and collaboration within Europe.
